SCOTT SHEFFLER

Scott Sheffler is a classical freelance double bass player in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. As a musician with over twenty years of experience, Scott started playing the bass at the age of eleven and has studied with several Dallas Symphony Orchestra members. He completed his undergraduate studies in Bass Performance at Southern Methodist University in the studio of Tom Lederer and then continued on to complete his Masters and Artist Diploma at the Yale University School of Music with Don Palma. Currently, Scott resides in Dallas, Texas where he freelances with regional orchestras and teaches private bass lessons at many area schools. He has frequently performs with the Plano Symphony, Irving Symphony, Garland Symphony, Arlington Symphony, Las Colinas Symphony, the Allen Philharmonic, and the Dallas Opera. In early 2010, Scott was a member of the pit orchestra for the Dallas production of Phantom of the Opera hosted by Dallas Summer Musicals and in the summer of 2010, he was also invited to participate in the George Lucas sanctioned Star Wars in Concert North American Tour of the United States, Canada, and Mexico. In his free time, Scott loves watching and playing sports, hanging out with family, and spending time with his wife and their two birds, Goofy and Kiwi.
